Kellyanne Conway Really, Really Doesn’t Want to Talk About Her Husband – Fox News

Kellyanne Conway has never liked answering questions about her husband’s vociferous opposition to Donald Trump, the lying bozo she’s spent the past three years defending with equal vigor The closest she’s come was in a Washington Post interview in which she called George’s tweets “disrespectful, it’s a violation of basic decency, certainly, if not marital vows ” (Conway asked that the quote be attributed to “a person familiar with their relationship;” reporter Ben Terris declined ) But the top Trump aide was especially furious at a question on the matter from Wolf Blitzer, whose attempts Thursday morning to get her to respond to George Conway’s impeachment take triggered an on-air meltdown “This is CNN now?” she demanded. “Respectfully, I think a bunch of gossip girls and opinion-making and pontificating is not the way I looked at CNN ” The dustup came when Blitzer asked Conway to respond to a clip of her husband analyzing Wednesday’s impeachment hearings on MSNBC The CNN host backed into the subject, promising a “substantive” question, rather than a personal question about her marriage “I know there are issues there,” he said. That drew a rebuke from Conway, who bristled at the suggestion of marital discord Blitzer attempted to steer the conversation away from her personal life and toward the substance of her husband’s criticisms of her boss, but nothing doing; the interview was already headed off the rails “Where is the shame?” Conway said after the clip was played. Blitzer continued to press her on substance, but Conway used the host’s suggestion about her marriage to push back even harder at the notion she’d be asked about her husband’s take at all “You have people at CNN who live on Twitter,” she said, glossing over the fact that her boss is also addicted to the platform “I choose to live offline. It’s a much better life to live offline than online. That’s their choice, but they love to do what you just did ” https://twitter.com/atrupar/status/1194985449892302856 Conway’s performance of bewilderment that the public might be interested in how she views her husband’s outspoken criticism of the president has always been absurd; as one of Trump’s most dedicated defenders, her marriage to one of his most prominent conservative detractors is obviously a story While Blitzer’s suggestion—intentional or not—of trouble in their marriage may be beside the point, it’s completely reasonable to ask Kellyanne to respond to George’s often-eloquent takedowns of her boss Blitzer faltered in his efforts to defend his line of questioning, even as he invoked another famous political pairing with diverging views: James Carville and Mary Matalin “The relevance is—and come, on, wait for it.drum roll—he’s married to me?” Kellyanne asked, rhetorically “What you just quoted is said every day by other voices but you wanted to put it in my husband’s voice because you think somehow that that will help your ratings or that you’re really sticking it to Kellyanne Conway ” She continued, “Let me be very clear: You didn’t stick it to Kellyanne Conway. I think you embarrassed yourself ”More Great Stories From Vanity Fair — The strangely familiar nightmare of impeaching Trump— Clues to the identity of Anonymous, who wrote the explosive White House op-ed— Former Fox News staffers demand to be released from their NDAs— Why crypto-crooks have their sights set on Iceland— A sustained booing reveals Trump’s true face— From the archive: A portrait of Kim Jong Un, part man, part myth Looking for more?
