How to Get the Wedding Photos You Want

Hello and welcome to another Wedding Tip Wednesday.
Today I wanted to share a reflection of a recently married friend of her wedding day. So after receiving some beautiful wedding portraits
back from her photographer this bride was left wishing that there were more photos of
her guests from their wedding day. Many of them had travelled a great distance to be
at the wedding, so when the photos came back with some stunning portraits of the bride
and her groom but not so many of their guests, they were disappointed. So here’s the thing about your wedding photos
– you only get one shot at them. And when the day is all over, your photos will play a really
key role in how you remember your special day for the years to come. So for that reason I feel that your wedding
photographer plays one of the more important roles on your wedding day. And you should
seriously consider what you’re willing to invest to make sure you capture not only all
of the special moments of the day but also the people who you shared them with. Now don’t
misinterpret that and think you need to go out and book the BEST and MOST EXPENSIVE photographer
you can find. But DO look for someone with plenty of wedding experience and ideally for
a team, so that while there’s one photographer capturing portraits of you and the bridal
party, there’s another taking photos of your guests. Also, if there’s particular people or family
groupings you want to ensure you photograph make sure you let the photographer know. Giving
them a list of these VIPs is really important and also really helpful for them. Likewise if your
preference is for more posed, portraits of you and your partner or alternatively you’d
prefer more candid shots, then giving your photographer some direction will help you ensure
your wedding photos are returned just as you had hoped they would be.
