I like people in their work Organizers June 24, 2012 Reply theresaasereht what is the music playing in this? i love it! July 14, 2012 Reply Ann Wardley I am absolutely appalled that you would cover such fine undamaged wood in your video what a waste, real artisans must weep at your work… I was born in the antique trade. Such good craftsmanship and you have distressed it…use french provincial repros PLEASE.. January 1, 2013 Reply Annie Sloan Dear Ann Wardley, I'm sorry you feel I have ruined a piece of furniture. In fact it was not high quality, and was damaged in many places – you can see the moulding at the bottom left is broken off. This sort of furniture is being broken up and thrown away, left in sheds to rot and in auction houses it is left unsold. Painting is a great way of saving it and recycling it. Brown furniture, as it's called in the trade, is not at all popular these days. The piece in the video is English not French. January 2, 2013 Reply Annie Sloan Chad Valley is the music. January 2, 2013 Reply Ann Wardley Thank you very much for your reply. I still find it sad its left to rot or ignored. I know its English in the 'trade' too for over 6 decades and have seen many many changes (in Sheffield and now Canada,) french provincial is just a style and its crap…here. not always made in France…check out my 'paintings'….on youtube.. I'm no mug girl. Wishing you well…Sorry I'm a very blunt Yorkshire lass.. January 2, 2013 Reply Sue Finnigan I am new to your paint line and really love the color possibilities. What color did you use on this dresser—Old ochre and Old White? I also noticed that you applied clear wax with a rag.Does that give a nice smooth finish compared to a brush on a smooth surface? Also-I found a vaneer dresser with a great body to paint and when I applied the paint it (after a good cleaning) the first coat looked like crackle and "bubbly". I thought it was supposed to stick to anything. What happened?? Thanks! January 21, 2013 Reply Chris Renegar Well this Charlestonian in America loves Annie Sloan's paints! I'm hooked and thank you for your video's. By the way, can you get one of Rose painting something? Gorgeous and a fantastic accent! January 24, 2013 Reply Rain i hate to ask a stupid question, but can i paint carpet? lol January 31, 2013 Reply Chris Renegar Annie, what colors did you use for that piece of furniture in this video???? February 12, 2013 Reply Betsan Jones What a beautifully made video! And I second the question below – the finished look is gorgeous. February 25, 2013 Reply marialuisa ponce Annie, I called The Place where this Magic Paint is Sold And I Was Told One Can Is $39.99 And The Wax $26 SomeThing is This True? Versailles and Old White . xx May 11, 2013 Reply Annie Sloan Golly I don't know. Never tried. Sorry !! I have painted fabric though. You would have to add a lot of water. May 11, 2013 Reply Annie Sloan Ha! She is lovey isn't she! You can find her singing and playing her cello under the name Rhosyn May 11, 2013 Reply Annie Sloan I imagine you are in the USA. Unfortunately there are a very few pieces in the States that have had either Pledge put on them or they have been made in China and have a particular finish on them. Not many at all, but you have been unfortunate!! Sorry xx May 11, 2013 Reply Annie Sloan I am not sure of the price in the States but I think this is correct. May 11, 2013 Reply TeaTime0223 I am so lucky to live literally 500 m from her Oxford shop. 🙂 I have been looking for a good quality paint for furniture since years and I just discovered her chalk paint this week. Amazing! I live in Oxford 3 years now and I did not know about her paint at all. I am so happy now! 🙂 July 29, 2013 Reply Annie Sloan It does go a very very long way of course – it's quite unlike other paints and you don't need a primer or any preparation so it really isn't expensive August 5, 2013 Reply Teresa Deas I was apprehensive about the pricing as well, but after purchasing one can of Chateau Grey and a sample size of Olive, I'm sold! The paints really do stretch making them quite cost effective. If you want to give a new look to old furniture, its a great way to go.
